About Cyprus

Cyprus is a Mediterranean Island, offering white sandy beaches with shallow turquoise water on the eastern coast. It also has deep water bays with rocky outcrops, where snorkelling and diving is popular. The west coast is famous for red villages, quiet backwaters, long walks and jogging.

With the lively resorts all over the island, and a myriad of activities to choose from,  there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Windsurfing and sailing can be enjoyed all the year round, while coastal cruising and deep-water fishing are also popular.

You could even use the island as a base for a short cruise to other nearby countries.

The mountain region in Cyprus, the Troodos region, gives an alternate view of the island, a Swiss and fresh feel!  an Almost 2,000 metres above sea level, the Troodos peaks a cool retreat from the heat of the coast, offers you a panoramic scenes to all corners of the island. Troodos is popular for taking in the healthy mountain air and enjoying nature in all its majesty. Charming Villages amongst the pines or amid vineyards and orchards and painted churches. Visiting the impressive Kykkos Monastery is a must.

HIKERS activities:
A series of nature trails will take you through areas of exceptional beauty among scented pines, running streams and the occasional waterfall, stopping at a shady picnic site. Some of these form part of the European path E4, an international network of long-distance walking routes crossing the whole of Europe.

In Cyprus there are six major cities and resorts :

  • Lefkosia (Nicosia) the capital in the centre
  • Lemesos (Limassol)
  • Larnaka (Larnaca)
  • Pafos (Paphos) along the southern coast
  • Ayia Napa
  • Protaras
In Each city, there is the busy modern commercial and business centres, with old town centres with picturesque historical buildings, where you can wander along narrow streets and browse through interesting markets and shopping centres.
